Who I am.
My name is Katarina Milkova, but I go by Kat. I was born and raised in the Heart of Europe also known as Slovakia.
I'm a web designer and developer and an experimental mixed media artist with a HUGE interest in art, design and everything web.
On a personal level, I am a great friend, sister, daughter and a lover with a huge love for animals - largely favor kittens, puppies and dogs.
In my free time, I enjoy doodling, dancing, talking to my dog on Skype, cooking, baking, reading, and relaxing with a good movie.
Sleeping is also one of my many passions and so naturally, I love spending lazy Sundays in bed.
What I do.
As a web professional, I am an advocate of web standards and beautiful, sleek and fast loading websites.
My websites consist of XHTML/CSS and occasional unobtrusive JavaScript and possible Flash.
As an artist, I doodle and paint and experiment - even though I have not done too much of that as of late.
For the past couple of years, I've been stuck working on mostly print related projects and would LOVE to make a head-first leap into the web world.
As a human being, I live, love and laugh, enjoy the beauty of the world and the company of the people that surround me.
What I know.
Being an advocate of web standards, I use TextMate, a plain text editor, to write my clean and valid code. Dreamweaver is great, but I prefer my little TextMate.
I use Photoshop and Illustrator daily for my design work, and InDesign for occasional largeprint work.
Where I am.
Currently, I reside in Brooklyn, NY.
